Green Tree Anole (Norops biporcatus) Rara Avis, Costa Rica I spotted this anole sleeping on a palm frond the night before. While bird watching just after sunrise the next day, I found myself in the vicinity of the just waking lizard and decided to snap off a few frames. Before starting its day, the lizard, which had just awoken, had darkened it's normally bright green coloration in an attempt to absorb as much warmth as possible.
