A sight to see indeed! A four foot Costa Rican black milk snake (Lampropeltis triangulum gaigeae) climbing into the canopy. These are heavy bodied and round snakes, not the kind of build you'd expect to see scaling a bare trunk, but hey, it's the rainforest. The bark of the tree was fissured and flaky; it kept breaking off under the snake's weight.
