• My favorite anole species presented in dynamic wide angle- the cryptic ambush predator, Pug-nosed Anole (Norops capito)
• Norops aquaticus is a very colorful stream inhabitant of southwestern Costa Rica.
• Crowned Treefrog, Anotheca spinosa
• Casque-headed Lizard (Corytophanes cristatus)
• This Rufous-eyed Stream Frog (Duellmanohyla rufioculis) was shot at 24mm on a 1.5 crop sensor.
• Annulated Tree Boa (Corallus annulatus)
Cano Palma Biological Station, Costa Rica
• This is a juvenile Helmeted Iguana (Corytophanes cristatus) from the premontane slopes of the Rara Avis Rainforest Reserve in Costa Rica. This species utilizes an extreme sit-and-wait hunting technique. It was shot at 24mm
• Red-eyed treefrog (Agalychnis callidryas)
Rara Avis Rainforest Reserve, Costa Rica
• Ridge-headed Salamander, Bolitoglossa colonnea
• This katydid does a great job at mimicking a dead leaf
• Casque-headed Lizard (Corytophanes cristatus)
• A striking yellow and black example of the polychromatic Helmeted Iguana (Corytophanes cristatus)
• Here's a photo of one of the wide-angle macro shoots. I do about half of them in the field and half setup in a studio. This particular studio setup consisted of a Nikon D7000 coupled with a Nikon 10-24mm. For lighting I used a R1 wireless twin macro-flash setup, and two SB-700 speedlights.
I decided to take a break from the shoot when the Anotheca jumped from the perch onto the camera.
